Foundations

Many foundations across Germany offer funding for researchers. The available opportunities vary widely: some offer support with travel and publication costs, while others fund entire projects including personnel and investment expenses.

To find out about the latest funding opportunities, consult the FIT information service and funding databases.

Foundations affiliated to HHU

The Association of Friends and Benefactors of Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf (GFFU - Gesellschaft von Freunden und Förderern der Heinrich-Heine-Universität Düsseldorf e.V.)  fosters research and teaching at the University in a variety of ways. Amongst others, it looks after individual foundations which provide financial support for equipment, publishing costs, participation in congresses and research trips etc.
In addition, there are a number of university foundations which support HHU financially in different areas. Further details can be found here.
The Anton Betz Foundation of the Rheinische Post newspaper supports research work and publications at Heinrich Heine University.

  • a financial contribution from the applicant,
  • an employer's declaration,
  • a draft collaboration agreement or consortium agreement,
  • a cap on the number of applications you can submit per university.
