Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf (HHU) is a young, research-oriented university in the heart of the Rhineland metropolitan region. We conduct cutting-edge research in a wide array of sectors, both in individual projects and in research collaborations. A broad spectrum of subjects across five faculties forms the basis for this.

CEPLAS – Cluster of Excellence on Plant Sciences

The Cluster of Excellence on Plant Sciences (CEPLAS) is a joint initiative of Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf (HHU), University of Cologne (UoC), Max Planck Institute for Plant Breeding Research Cologne (MPIPZ) and Forschungszentrum Jülich (FZJ). In CEPLAS scientists are developing innovative strategies for sustainable plant production and the promotion of early career researchers.

Emmy Noether Programme Grant for Jun.-Prof. Dr. Khaled Selim

Jun.-Prof. Dr. Khaled Selim was accepted into the prestigious Emmy Noether Programme of the German Research Foundation (DFG). The DFG is funding the research work on the topic of "New aspects for coordination of cyanobacterial metabolism: Unravelling the regulatory network of SbtB and c-di-AMP signalling" over 6 years.

Exzellenz Start-up Center

The Heinrich Heine University of Düsseldorf has received 3.18 million euros in funding from the state North Rhine-Westphalia to further improve its services for the development of new ideas and sustainable business models. The grant will enable the expansion and further development of the start-up-related support services at the Center for Entrepreneurship Düsseldorf (CEDUS) and the entrepreneurship teaching at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences and the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics.

Three fellows in European postdoctoral fellowship programme at HHU

The European Commission awards European Postdoctoral Fellowships under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Program to international young scientists who are planning a research stay abroad. Three researchers who were successful in the 2023 call will carry out a research stay at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf (HHU).
